Destiny Young began her artistry in dance at the age of eighteen; studying dance and movement studies, and political science at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. Destiny has a concentrated background in modern dance. Though her formal training began much later than the average dancer, Destiny has been afforded many performing and teaching opportunities in the United States and Abroad. She has studied and/or performed with such renowned artist and choreographers as Jawole Willa Joe Zollar of the Urban Bush Women, Omelika Kuumba (Giwayen Mata African Dance Ensemble), Lori Teague (Emory University), Anna Leo (Emory University), Jeanna Travers (University of South Florida) and many more. She is currently serving as Managing Director and Co- Artistic Director of Global Arts Society a Non Profit Arts Organization that she co-founded. Destiny teaches, modern, ballet, African, creative movement, movement improvisation, and choreography. Destiny has a true passion for the progression and preservation of the arts. She believes that visual and performing arts are an effective tool for changing the individual and the world. Therefore, she is instrumental in creating programs in which the arts are used as a medium for individual and social change.
