The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duan Wu Festival, is a long-established celebration in Chinese culture, traditionally held on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar. The word Duan means “beginning” and the word Wu means “warmth and radiance”.

Join us on these two special festival days where the whole family can take part in traditional Dragon Boat festivities:

– Learn how to make sticky rice cakes (Zongzi)
– Purchase your own Zongzi making kit to take home
– Go deeper into the customs of Dragon Boat festival and the story of patriotic poet Qu Yuan through our special exhibition

– Immerse the children with our cool Dragon Boat scale colouring activity
– Sunday only: View a real Dragon Boat on display in Chinatown Square
