The Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) is dedicated to training the most exceptional young classical musicians from Australia and New Zealand. ANAM provides an intense studio-based program of individually-tailored lessons, classes, coaching, seminars and rehearsals, alongside a public performance schedule of over 180 events each year. ANAM’s audience and membership base is highly engaged and supportive.

 

 POSITION SUMMARY

The Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) Senior Marketing Coordinator is an energetic, hands-on, forward thinking and multi-skilled arts marketing professional who can coordinate the delivery of ANAM’s marketing objectives. Working within a small team, and supervising ANAM’s Marketing Assistant, the Senior Marketing Coordinator is tasked with the implementation of strategies to increase ANAM’s local, national and international recognition, grow engagement and audiences for its Melbourne and national performance program, and increase its profile amongst prospective students. It is a varied role with responsibilities across print and digital platforms, advertising, website management and ticketing.

DETAILS OF ENGAGEMENT 

Position title:               Senior Marketing Coordinator

Salary classification:   Level D (from ANAM’s Workplace Agreement 2016) 

Salary:                         $82,825 + $95,004 (plus super) 

Time fraction:             full time

Employment type:      Ongoing full time, subject to the successful completion of a probationary period

Reports to:                  Marketing and Communications Manager

Works closely with:     Marketing, development and program all departments; musicians and faculty

Location:                     Based at the Abbotsford Convent, Abbotsford, Melbourne

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing

·     Coordinate and implement annual and project-based marketing plans, including student recruitment campaign

·     Coordinate collateral design, production and distribution

·     Manage design agency and/or designers including briefing, timelines, editing and production

·     Manage advertising plan, content and partnerships

·     Coordinate the ANAMates membership strategy and marketing plan

·     Lead development, production and distribution of quarterly Music Makers newspaper

·     In consultation with Marketing & Communications Manager and external publicist, coordinate media opportunities and interviews for ANAM musicians, faculty and guests

·     Coordinate photo and video shoots

·     Coordinate – with Marketing Assistant – the templates and design for eDMs, digital assets and social media (where relevant)

·     Maintain accurate reports and data analysis of marketing activity

 

Website & Ticketing

·     Manage ANAM’s website

·     Lead the development and management of annual redesign of the ANAM website including liaising with external web developers

·     Oversee and ensure all website content is accurate and updated regularly, including images, logos, events and video as required

·     Assist with Tessitura ticket builds, including TNEW (web-based) content

·    Undertake Front of House and Box Office duties as required

 

Branding

·     Responsible for ANAM brand exposure and imagery ensuring the ANAM brand is represented correctly, consistently and acknowledgements adhered to

·     Oversee the appropriate use of ANAM’s intellectual property

 

DELEGATED RESPONSIBILITIES

·       The Marketing Assistant reports to this position. Workplanning and performance appraisal will be undertaken for the Marketing Assistant in conjunction with the Marketing and Communications Manager

·       The Senior Marketing Coordinator will oversee the Marketing Assistant’s delivery of tasks including:

o   Creation and distribution of social media content

o   Creation and distribution of email communications, including monthly eNews, e-blasts and event reminders

o   Identify and coordinate promotion opportunities to engage with key community groups, such as local media, schools, arts organisations and local councils etc.

 

 KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Relevant degree and/or experience
  • Experience working in marketing and/or communications in an arts company
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative and successful marketing campaigns for events and projects
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Experience managing relationships, in particular with external suppliers and arts partners 
  • Experience with website content management systems (CMS), social media and eDM platforms

 

Desirable

  • Experience in Tessitura (CRM)
  • Knowledge of classical music and the Australian cultural sector
  • Experience with Adobe Indesign and Photoshop

 

 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Availability to work outside regular ‘office’ hours (with plenty of notice), including some evenings and weekends, and ability to tour interstate/overseas if required.
